PragmatIC seeks an Automation Engineer to join our expanding team working in our state-of-the-art production facility (FlexLogICTM). The successful candidate will be part of the team optimising our automated production facility and will assist in specifying future systems. The role will include working closely with suppliers and strategic partners to develop the next generation of FlexLogIC™, evaluating different process modules, devising and simulating strategies and making recommendations based on impact analyses.

Key tasks:

  • Assess the current FlexLogIC™ system and identify critical areas that can be improved
  • Work with key partners to optimise the throughput of the FlexLogIC™ system
  • Coordinate the installation of equipment
  • Interact with various suppliers/customers to discuss the fab-in-a-box concept and evaluate future enhancements

Qualifications and training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative subject (Computer Science, Maths, Physics or similar)
  • Higher degree
  • SPC & CPK methodologies

Skills and experience:

  • Evidence of in-depth knowledge of the principles and processes of workflow automation
  • Clear understanding of typical high-tech equipment
  • Track record of using process simulation software
  • Strong SIMATIC WinCC and PLC coding ability
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrable ability to analyse data and draw meaningful conclusions to root cause and impact
  • Effective at solving technical problems
  • Proven project management experience
  • Solid understanding of robot and sensor calibrations (optical, proximity etc.)
  • Familiarity with PLC data comms (ladder logic) and robot programming e.g. Profibus, Profinet etc.
