PragmatIC is seeking a practical, pragmatic IT person, eager to progress in their career, who can make an immediate impact in maintaining and monitoring the computer systems and networks of the company. The successful candidate will get involved with a wide range of tasks including installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults and solving technical and applications problems, both over the phone and in person. Key tasks

  • Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
  • Assist with implementation of various IT projects
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
  • Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues

Qualifications and training

  • Degree or equivalent experience in computer science or related discipline (an advantage)
  • Additional training courses in Windows Server 2012 or higher, Cisco CCNA (an advantage)

Skills and experience

  • Previous experience of Office 365 support
  • Evidence of Windows Server 2012 or higher support
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Windows 10
  • Strong proficiency in resolving issues
  • Proof of clear communication skills
  • Excellent at problem solving
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Substantial use of Linux (an advantage)
  • Working knowledge of Networking (an advantage)
  • Working knowledge of VLAN (an advantage)
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell (an advantage)
