PragmatIC is expanding and is looking for a Semiconductor Process Engineer who will work as part of PragmatIC’s process engineering development team, improving existing and new processes to enable current and next generation integrated circuit devices. The ideal candidate will have a track record within industrial semiconductor processing with a creative and proactive approach to problem solving.

Key tasks:

  • Thorough characterisation of all unit processes in owned module
  • Evaluate interactions between equipment, modules and other process areas and work closely with counterparts to help resolve process integration issues
  • Focus on process variation improvement in owned module to meet SPC goals and stay on the new technology roadmap
  • Transfer developed process to manufacturing with good support and documentation
  • Work with counterparts (process engineering or other areas) to define and implement solutions to improve the overall quality metrics (cost, throughput, scrap, defectivity, cycle time, rework)
  • Identify the opportunities and provide feedback to management/R&D personnel for setting module level roadmaps
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives working closely with the Quality team
  • Regular interaction with counterparts and understanding the manufacturing requirement

Qualifications and training:

  • HNC/HND level in an electronics/mechanical engineering discipline
  • Experience in semiconductor high volume manufacturing
  • Six Sigma or Lean Methodology

Skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge or experience with SPC charts
  • Knowledge or experience using industrial semiconductor processes (an advantage)
  • Subject matter knowledge in deposition (PVD), plasma etch or wet processing (an advantage)
  • An open and collaborative approach with the ability to work across teams to achieve results
  • Outstanding communication skills, able to adapt style to different parts of the organisation and liaise with external partners
  • A good level of competence with Microsoft tools
