PragmatIC participates in a number of innovative technology projects.
PlasticArmPit aims to create an ‘electronic nose’ sensor based on a custom machine learning engine, implemented on a flexible substrate. The project involves Arm, PragmatIC, The University of Manchester and Unilever, and has received funding from InnovateUK.
MASCOT (Microwave Amorphous SemiConducting Oxides measurement Tool) seeks to develop a microwave metrology capability suitable for industrial implementation, culminating in an in-line tool for thin film measurement with the right sensitivity, throughput, cost and ease of integration to PragmatIC's FlexLogIC manufacturing platform. The project has received funding from InnovateUK.
ALFIE (Assembly Line for Flexible Integrated Electronics) is a PragmatIC project to establish a new capability for assembly of flexible electronics and develop processes that can be transferred directly to customers’ existing production lines. It is part funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
HiperLAM (High Performance Laser-Additive Manufacturing) was a project focused on laser-based additive manufacturing for high resolution printed conductive lines in applications including RFID antenna. Partners included Orbotech, Oxford Lasers and TNO. Funding was received from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme Contract No. 723879.
EPIC (Enhanced P-type metal oxides for Integrated Circuits) is a research and development collaboration between the University of Liverpool, Pegasus Chemicals and PragmatIC to develop p-type metal oxides with optimised properties suitable for future integration into a CMOS Flexible Integrated Circuit (FlexIC) architecture. This project has received funding from InnovateUK.
FLEXIBAT is developing thin flexible batteries for integration into electronic wearables and IoT devices. The project is led by Zinergy and has received funding from InnovateUK.
NECOMADA (Nano-Enabled Conducting Materials Accelerating Device Applicability) was a project with CPI, Henkel, BSH and Fraunhofer targeted on the incorporation of advanced functional materials to deliver customised conductive inks and flexible adhesives compatible with high volume manufacturing. Funding was received from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme Contract No. 720897.
